REGULATIONS EFFECTIVE IN THE EU COUNTRIES THAT WILL COME INTO EFFECT IN THE ACCESSION COUNTRIES

1. Protection of the Community's forests against atmospheric pollution: Regulations laying down certain detailed rules for the implementation of Council Regulation (EEC) No 3528/86 (no longer in force) on the protection of the Community's forests against atmospheric pollution

2. Protection of the Community's forests against fire: Regulations laying down certain detailed rules for the application of Council Regulation (EEC) No 2158/92 (no longer in force) on protection of the Community's forests against fire

3. Monitoring of forests and environmental interactions in the Community (Forest Focus):

  • 1210/90/EEC: establishment of the European Environment Agency and the European Environment Information and Observation Network
  • 2152/03/EC: concerning monitoring of forests and environmental interactions in the Community (Forest Focus)

  • 3254/91/EEC: prohibiting the use of leghold traps in the Community and the introduction into the Community of pelts and manufactured goods of certain wild animal species originating in countries which catch them by means of leghold traps or trapping methods which do not meet international humane trapping standards
